Creating art is for me a joyful journey.  My inspiration comes from the scenic beauty, and remarkable natural and cultural history of the Pacific Northwest.  With my sketching pencil and paint brush, I share my love of nature and tell stories of my outdoor adventures.

I grew up in Iowa and was fortunate to live, work and paint in Switzerland, Germany and Australia before settling in Oregon with my family.  When not painting en plein air, my wife Jean enjoys quilting while I am creating art in our home studio in Oregon's Cascade Mountains.

Many collectors in the US and overseas have acquired my art.  I am a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, the Watercolor Society of Oregon, Lake Area Artists and the Wy’ East Artisans’ Guild.  I am honored to be represented by the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and the Mount Hood Cultural Center and Museum.  My paintings are included in permanent collections of Timberline Lodge and the Oregon Health and Science University.
