Glennda Field

Painting: Watercolor, Acrylic

Oregon resident Glennda Field’s art is influenced by the majestic and scenic Columbia River Gorge where she lives and paints.  Words, scenes, situations, moments in time, interesting people and attitudes inspire her work and you see it in her paintings.  When she creates in either watercolor or acrylic she uses vibrant colors, strong light and interesting compositions to tell her stories.  When it speaks to my heart, then I paint.

“Art was the focus of my college experience but was set aside while I was raising my four children and managing a CPA firm.  When they all went off to college I returned to art.  I thoroughly enjoy the challenge, satisfaction, joy and inner peace I experience when I'm painting.  It soothes my soul and gives me an opportunity to share life through my artistic lens.”

I've also discovered that teaching others to paint is something I am good at.  With encouragement, simple instructions and demonstrations, it is rewarding to help a student enjoy the process of painting.  When they learn the fundamentals and then create, I witness their joy when they accomplish something beautiful totally from their own hands and heart.” Glennda

Glennda is a juried member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and the Oregon Society of Artists and has won numerous awards for her art in both watercolor and acrylic painting.  She taught watercolor at Clark Community College for several years, and currently teaches in private lessons and workshops.
